Course Description

AHA Heartcode eLearning and Skills Validation

What is it?

We now offer our three most popular courses BLS, ACLS and PALS as hybrid courses. This means that all of the course work and testing is done online through interactive learning modules, and you simply come to us to have your skills tested.

These can be used for both initial certification or Condensed Format!

How does it work?

There are three components to the Heartcode and eLearning courses.

  • Part 1. Students complete the online, cognitive portion of the course, either at the workplace or anywhere with Internet access. When students finish the online portion, a certificate of completion will be available for them to print. The certificate must be presented to the instructor before the student is able to proceed with Parts 2 and 3 at an authorized American Heart Association Training Center.
  • Part 2*. Students participate in a hands-on practice session with an American Heart Association Instructor for the discipline in which they are testing (BLS, ACLS, PALS) or using a voice-assisted manikin (VAM) system.
  • Part 3*. Students complete the skills validation test with an American Heart Association Instructor for the discipline being tested or using a VAM system.

* Parts 2 and 3 will be completed in one “skills practice and testing” session.

Upon successful completion of all three parts, students will be issued an American Heart Association Provider Course Completion Card for the discipline completed.
